Careers:

Program Managers

The Environmental Finance Center periodically hires Program Managers, in a full or part-time capacity, to oversee projects related to current funding initiatives. These staff members support the EFC in its efforts to educate communities about the role of finance and economic development in the protection of the environment. Program Managers strengthen the capacity of local decision-makers to analyze environmental problems and assist these decision-makers with developing innovative and effective methods of financing environmental efforts.

Program Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing and managing work plans for U.S. EPA and State agencies; coordinating consultants, partners and EFC staff members; proposing project concepts; writing project and status reports; identifying potential grant and other project funding opportunities; and writing grant applications.

Interested applicants should have project management experience, possess strong writing, communication and presentation skills, and be able to work independently. Environmental finance, policy, education or planning background is preferred.

These positions may require occasional travel throughout EPA Region 3 or to other domestic locations. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Please send cover letter and resume via email or mail to Joanne Throwe, jthrowe@umd.edu.
