Medessa Burian has close to fifteen years of program and project management experience in the environmental, public health, and education-related fields. Medessa joined the EFC as a part-time Project Manager in 2011 responsible for the implementation of the Center’s air quality programming. She became a full-time Program Manager in 2016 leading a number of projects related to air quality, green schools, and online education and training. Medessa was named Faculty Assistant in 2017. In this role she helps support the administrative needs of the Center and continues to manage grant programs, including the Municipal Online Stormwater Training (MOST) Center, which provides online stormwater education and training to municipalities throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Prior to joining EFC, Medessa worked as a Project Director for Shattuck & Associates, Inc. performing technical assistance, training, capacity building, and practical evaluation for government and non-governmental health and education organizations. She received a Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.S. in Biology from Centre College in her home state of Kentucky.
